I Got Hit by a 2x4!!

Happy Monday!

How was your weekend?

So, disclaimer: I don't use AI for these posts. (I think you can tell). 😄

But! I do use it for research and generating ideas for workshops.

Recently, I asked it: "Based on what you know about me, make an image of what you think my life must look like."

This is what it came up with: It took a picture from my gallery!

Pretty cool, hey?

Do you see me meditating on a sandy white beach in the Caribbean?

That is my GOAL this week!

Less doing, more being.

Because I Just Got Hit by a Two by Four

In all my whirlwind activities, goals, projects, and full-on "Pura Vida" adventures, nature has a way of stopping me when I do too much!

I have PNEUMONIA!

I have to rest for a week!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

That was NOT part of the plan!

And in that AI-generated picture, I love how I'm living my adventures—traveling, being outdoors, trying all sorts of activities.

It's a BUSY picture, with a LOT of movement. LOL.

This Weekend, I Had to Cancel:

✨ A date with my lovely friend Fatima (whom I haven't seen in months—she's one of my favourite people on this planet)

✨ Practice with my salsa performance group Friday evening

✨ Saturday morning yoga

✨ A planning session with Katelynn Corman for our in-person Radiant Woman workshop (we have SO many awesome activities to boost joy, discover values, and have fun!)

✨ Saturday night party with my YMCA lady friends (nature walk, games, great food!)

✨ Sunday morning yoga

✨ Salsa dance practice Sunday afternoon with my hugely talented teacher Emily Peat, owner of Underdog Dance Studio

✨ Finish evaluating one set of assignments for school

✨ Report cards

LOL 😆

When I read this list, I can see why my body threw a wrench in all that!

That is TOO MUCH!

The Face Plant Moment

Once, in high school, I was running the 200 meters and I remember running faster than my legs.

Yes, that is a thing.

My upper body leaned forward faster than my legs could move.

I did a massive face plant.

There was no video (there were no phones in 1989), but it would have gone viral for sure.

The "Kid in a Candy Store" Philosophy

I have the most beautiful, creative, powerful, joyful, "I can do it all!" mind.

I call it the "kid in a candy store" philosophy.

"I will have some of this, try some of that, and oh, can I go ahead and do that too?"

(You get the picture.)

The Reminder I Needed

So, dear friend, I am going to rest and meditate, just like that AI-generated picture is reminding me to do.

It's a good reminder that meditation is my foundation to calm down my busy mind.

I will also do gentle yoga.

The Morale of the Story

Sometimes doing less is healthy.

Sometimes doing nothing is even better.

Your Turn

Are you running faster than your legs?

Are you the "kid in a candy store" too?
